So, its Feb 2013.  The final assignments for Project 52 for 2012 are coming in the next couple weeks.  I have had a real blast the past year and I have learned quite a bit about lighting and photography in general.  This past fall I attended a workshop down in Peoria, IL and got my chance to meet Don Giannatti.  What a blast we had.  We got up early and shot all day and we didn't quit until late night.  Woof.  My head was spinning trying to digest all the good stuff I learned while driving the 4hours back home. I have committed to the Project 52 PRO version this coming year.  It is similar to the free version but includes a lot more in-depth

I have been working on my photography hobby of late.  I think its starting to come together for me and I feel I am improving.  I recently watched a seminar by Don Giannatti over on CreativeLive.  I have to say he is one of the best teachers (of any kind) that I have had the chance to interact with.  He knows his craft well and is able to express it in terms that anyone from beginner to seasoned professional can understand. I have also hooked up with Don's Project 52.  Its a mock assignment a week for a year sort of deal.  He specifies an assignment similar to what a pro photographer could expect to run into.  He gives you a discussion forum

I attended a Tamron workshop with speaker Ken Hubbard on Wednesday.  There were far more beginners there than advanced so my expectations of gleening something new dropped.  Most of the talk was geared toward new or "green box" shooters but there were some good tips to be had.  Most of it all about f-stops, dof, composition, etc.  Surprisingly little sales pitch so that was nice too. One of the most moving comments he made was in a story he told about when he was young and shooting some pictures of a lighthouse near a harbor in New York.  He told the story about someone coming up to him as he was setting up his tripod and camera.

Thank you very much for the fav! :) greetings from Chile!
Welcome to #100PLUSClub. Hope you enjoy the group!
I can't believe the price. They are offering the PRO version for $40! Yes, the $1100+ software for $40.

They are using viral promotion to sell their animation program, Messiah. The basic version, normally $499, is only $10. The PRO version, normally $1195, is only $40. The catch is that no one receives their license until all of the available copies are sold. If this doesn't happen, all prospective buyers will be refunded their money.

I couldn't resist. Now I wait for the bar to fill up and them to hand out licenses. I have seen it move from 30% to 32% just this morning.
Thnx for the :+fav: on Bikerbabe
